MKHP has identified the following 5 key strategic objectives to work towards ending homelessness and providing sustainable homes for all in Milton Keynes:

Homelessness prevention and emergency support services

Explore options for the provision of services for those at risk of becoming homeless or without accommodation. Ongoing review of supply and demand for homelessness prevention and emergency support services with roadmap to fill gaps in service provision annually.

Emergency accommodation

Explore options for the provision of emergency short-term shelter for those in crisis and requiring immediate support. Aiming for no second night out with sufficient emergency accommodation and ongoing support in place to prevent rough sleeping.

Temporary accommodation

Explore and agree priority options for the increased provision of suitable temporary accommodation. Hold MKHP partners to account for achieving targets to provide accommodation as needed to those identified as at risk of becoming homeless.

Sustainable homes

Engage housing providers in the Partnership with the aim of increasing the supply and access of affordable homes. Hold MKHP partners to account for commitments to deliver the appropriate mix and supply of homes with personal support to sustain tenancies.

One stop shop

Bring together help and support into a ‘one-stop shop’ style of delivery. Agree and implement joined up ways of working to co-ordinate services for homelessness prevention and homeless people including advice, information and assistance.
