Connections Support – Housing First
Supporting people during their journey from rough sleeping to a more settled lifestyle within their own home and to improve their health and wellbeing. You are introduced to Connection Support team through a referral from Milton Keynes Council Homeless Prevention Team. You will have a Personalised Housing Plan.
Winter Night Shelter
Open for emergency accommodation from the beginning of November through to the end of March. WNSMK is for men and women (aged 18 and over) who have nowhere else to stay. There are 30 bed spaces per night, including dinner and breakfast. Every guest must be referred in advance to our welfare team in order to have a bed (details on the website).
The Bus Shelter
A warm, safe place to sleep, open every day of the year with kitchen, bathroom and laundry facilities.
Accommodation and support to approximately 350 homeless and formerly homeless young adults per year, through an emergency hostel and 123 flats. Working with young adults who are homeless and unemployed until they have a healthy sense of wellbeing, are in suitable accommodation and employment and have developed the skills to sustain both.
The Salvation Army
Fishermead Centre is a Salvation Army Lifehouse that offers supported housing to men and women experiencing homelessness who are aged 25 and over who can stay for 6 months. The highly trained staff team at Fishermead Centre plan and deliver a high quality support service, which promotes client choice, opportunities to learn new skills, make positive life choices and achieve the best possible outcomes, and run a variety of courses including cooking, budgeting workshops, Art, and support a focused Addictions and Psychosocial programme.
Clients receive one to one support sessions and can be referred to outside agencies for additional support as needed. Resettlement support is then offered to assist with a smooth transition into independent living. Each resident is supported to find move on accommodation depending on their circumstances and the housing options available,this can be through private rent, housing associations, charities or local councils.
Referrals to the service can be made by anyone working with the client, and these referrals are then considered at the Milton Keynes Adult Housing Panel . For initial enquiries or a referral form please email firstname.lastname@example.org
Sanctuary Hosting matches homeless asylum seekers, refugees and vulnerable migrants to people in the community with spare rooms and open hearts, to stay rent free for an agreed period of time.
We work throughout the Thames Valley, in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
Emmaus Village Carlton
Emmaus Village Carlton is a homelessness charity based in north Bedfordshire offering active support to formerly homeless people. Providing a real workable alternative to homelessness, offering people a home, as well as meaningful work in the social enterprise.
Look Ahead - Care Support and Housing
Look Ahead are specialists in delivering supported living to mental health, learning disabilities, homelessness and young people services. This service is a contracted preferred supplier of Milton Keynes Council.
